I IZ SCOTTISH

So my friend decided that she would post something about her Irish heritage which got me all "I SHOULD POST SOMETHING ABOUT MY SCOTTISH HERITAGE!!!" which was why there was David Tennant... and BARROWMAN!!!!!!! I was trying to find out if I was in the same clan as them. So yeah. I'm Scottish. I think my great grandfather was the last full Scottish person in the family on my mom's side. On my dad's side, it was also pretty far back. Anyways, I'm English, Irish, and Scottish. What a wonderful combination. If we ever had a family reunion, it'd cause the next World War. I'm also Mannish, Dutch, and German but let's not worry about that right now. I have a ton of fun heritage stories to tell.

Mother:
I have no idea what my Scottish clan is but the lst name I have too work with is Ricketts. I don't know. I have done a ton of research and nothing popped up. Probably because I'm trusting all of my grandma's stories and she has a tendency to forget something that happened five minutes ago. I know I have one (we found the crest and everything) I just don't know which one it is and I'm trying to find it again by myself. I remember i starts with an R though. I'm not sure which R clan though. I think it's Rollo. But I'm not certain.
Father:
My clan on my dad's side is MacLeod. We traced it through the name Lewis which ended when my grandma married my grandpa. Anyways, through that name, we raced it to the MacLeod's.
Guess who's also a MacLeod?
That's right. David Tennant. Who's mom's surname was MacLeod.

No biggy, I'm just, y'know, related to the Doctor.

Life

So... Remember how I said I had that big project for my work due on the 4th? Well, my boss just decided to kick me out of the workplace and so now, when I had previously gotten in contact with 2 of the five other people I work with, I now have to get in contact with them again to chance to meeting place as well as get ahold of the other three. I really hope they check their emails.
It seems like this gif is coming up more and more often in my life...

I IZ ARTIST

So, I'm sure that rarely anybody knew this but I have a job as an animator. Most of my time right now is spent in school but I also spend some time sketching and drawing and things. It's not a very high-paying , high-hours, serious job, but it's a job. At my job, I do more of a collective arts thing. I do video, animation, editing, photography, acting, dance, music (piano, percussion, french horn, etc.), and really anything. The things I do at my job are a lot like what I do at school. Anyways, my point is that I'm an artist and I was going to post some things on this blog that I've done but I haven't one that yet. I have full intention of doing that and making this more of an artsy blog as well. Right now, I don't have any of my work up on the computer but this is another one of the things that I promise to post sometime.

The Mongol-chondria

So, separate from the work I'm doing at my job, I'm also working on another project for school. We have teams doing video, cartooning, costuming, scripting, music, acting, and research. For the project, we're taking an organelle and we're creating a political campaign for it to prove why it is the more needed of the organelles. We got the mitochondria (which we are comparing to a Mongol.) I'll show you some sketches I drew up later. It's coming along pretty awesomely and it's going to be really cool!!!! I can't wait for it to finally all come together. I'll keep you all posted on it as it evolves but right now there really isn't anything much besides some sketches I did.
~R

Interns

So right now I'm working on this huge project with a bunch of "interns." (Interns in this case just applies to people who are under me and have no idea what they are doing. Granted, I'm not high up in my workplace but I'm higher than them and they're super annoying.) It has to be in by Tuesday and all of the people working on it are idiots except for one of my friends, who is the only one (besides me) who isn't an "intern." Anyways, we were given an assignment which I can't really ell you much about but it's one of those things where you have to be absolutely creative in order for you to actually really achieve anything with it. My friend is the head of the whole thing and I'm the head of the animating/ creativeness force for this. I'm in charge of about three people and the entire group is about six people big. There's a lot of stuff to get done and we haven't even really started it. We've been planning and researching and drawing but we haven't started writing and recording yet really. Also, the intern in charge of the contacts LOST THE CONTACTS!!!! We're all on this big break right now but we have to keep working through it in order to get things done. The person in charge of them *ahem* (you know who you are) didn't contact anyone and I finally had to track her down through her sister and then had to help her gather all of the contacts back together again. I personally emailed everyone but NOBODY HAS EMAILED ME BACK YET!!!! It's all really unprofessional of them and there's going to be a big consequence if we can't all pull together and do this. I'm starting to leak my efforts into other departments but I'm afraid it isn't really working. I'm just hoping it all works out. I HATE INTERNS!!!!!!

My Life Today

So basically, I did nothing today but some work and more editing on the blog.YAY LAZY DAY!!!!!!

HALLELUJAH!!!!!

My sport season is over!!!! I'll have a lot more time to do more things!!! Recently, I've been very stressed out and anxious because I haven't had time for anything and I'm being overworked but now that my sport is out, I'll have a lot more time for a lot nicer things.
So yeah. I still have a ton of work to do but that's some weight lifted off of my shoulders. I would quit but I really love the people in the program and since they don't have time for anything outside of practice and stuff, I' never get to see them so it's a bit of a bitter sweet moment because they're all going on to do more seasons and I'm just... working.... so it's a little sad but I'll survive!!!

I actually really don't know what to do with my life now. Is this what it's like in the normal person's life? It must be so boring not being me. So simple.

Editing the Blog

So I've been trying to edit the blog and do things to make it look really cool like adding pictures and custom colors and stuff but I keep messing it up! If I change one thing, I have to change other things because I've changed a color scheme or forma or something and it turns into all of these different little details that I have to change so basically I'm customizing a whole new blog and it is TERRIBLE. Not to mention that my laptop is also about seven years old so it's super slow and doesn't have a lot of drive open. Therefore, if I want to edit a picture, I have to completely wipe my drive to save one picture and then again if I want to save anotherpicture. It's not very helpful if I need to do something. It takes me about 4 hours to edit a picture.
For instance, this picture took me about 5 hours to edit. Seems simple, just a crop, some writing, and a few filters, but it took me so long I was about to throw my computer across the room. It's not from my lack of understanding of the program. I'm perfectly competent with that, it's just that the software kept quitting on me and it took another half hour to start it back up again so not only was it difficult to get the picture into the software, the software wouldn't stay open long enough for me to edit anything and save it. So this lovely picture right here took me all day yesterday to make and put back into the blog.

Well, I was starting to edit things (add the custom back ground that's up right now) and realized that the new color scheme didn't fit the picture so I was going to take it down and replace it with a Doctor Who picture but I couldn't save the DW picture to my computer! But at that point in time, the picture was already taken down and I couldn't put it back up because my computer's throwing a tantrum and I din't have it still save to my drive. So for the past 2 hours, I've been trying to at least make things decent and put it back up which obviously isn't working. So I've given up. Oh well. I'll edit it tomorrow. I've had a gigantic amount of patience with the editing of this blog and it wasn't completely terrible (I like editing) but I'm tired, it's late, I have stuff to do tomorrow (like, proper work) and I'll just have to put it off for another time. The blog looks decent enough. Oh well. I'll do it some other time. I'll have to borrow another computer.

Anyways, you can see that it's terribly annoying. I like the new background but I don't know. I might keep it. So give me your thoughts on it!!! I might keep it or I'll convert it to something else.

Final Vest Picture

So it's going to be a while before I can get the pictures up (I know!! I'm sorry!) but I can show you the vest as I wore it to the theater.

Black dress shirt, TARDIS vest, red converse, Union Jack sunglasses, sonic screwdriver. I was wearing pants, as well, but those are boring.

Dying to Forget/ Remember/ Return

So there's this series on Nook/ Kindle (I think it might also be on Amazon) called the Station series by Trish Marie Dawson. I finished TWO books in a few weeks and it only took that long because my Nook doesn't hold a charge and I had to keep charging it.

It's about a girl who commits suicide and then after she dies, she is taken to this station where all the people who commit suicide go. They are put through training and then they are put into the heads of people on earth who are dangerously close to committing suicide and, by making suggestions to the sub-concious, they try to get them into a place where they aren't depressed anymore and their lives are looking a whole lot better.

It's an interesting series (a little depressing) but interesting and it isn't really about suicide anymore after the first book and a half. Then it's more like sci-fi aliens and stuff. Anyways, It's a really good series and I suggest that you guys read it!!!

This is the first book cover. The next one is Dying to Remember and the one after that is Dying to Return.

Tardis cosplay (vest)

So two day ago, I had a showing of Doctor Who 50th anniversary to go to and I wanted to cosplay as a TARDIS. I ran all over town to countless Good Wills and Salvation Armies trying to find something TARDIS blue that I could work with. I didn't want to start from scratch because I didn't have much time and I'm not that skilled. Therefore, I was trying to ind a shirt, sweater, scarf, ANYTHING that was TARDIS blue, The best thing I found was nurses' scrubs. I found TARDIS blue nurses' scrubs. I don't have a picture of what it started out as, but this is basically it.

So first, I stared off with separating the collar from itself. On side came out nice and pretty but the other side I had to eventually sew back together. So I tore through all of the stitches and did that. Then, I had to take the sleeves off. I took me a good hour and a half to get all of the stitching out. I'd say it was another half hour to form new hems for the sleeves. I was panicking at this point, because I had about an hour left. Then, I cut own the middle of the scrubs and formed a hem there. I didn't have the time or skill to put the buttons on soI just left it unbuttoned. I had about half an hour left at this point, and started putting electrical tape on (I was going to use fabric but I didn't have it or the time.) I made a rectangle of white electrical tape on the right side and then wrote the stuff on it with sharpie. I know, it sounds bad, but it was actually really cool. People fangirled as I walked by. I then had a black dress shirt to go underneath it and a blue scarf. Completed it with Union Jack sunglasses, red converse, a sonic screwdriver, and I had a hat like this.
All in al, it actually looked really cool. My hair is short like David's and my friend like to play with it so by the end of the night, I had become a David Tennant-TARDIS mash-up. It was AWESOME!!!!!
I will put up the full picture later when I have them all on the computer and everything.

Korean Food

So, in case you didn't know, I really like Korean food. It is really good!! Bibimbap and Dokboki are some of my favorites! My mom, however, does not like Korean food and it upset her stomach. Something about it being too spicy XD Anyways, culturally, they always talk to the man or the old person and I was the only man and my granny was the only old person but my mm really likes to run the show. She's a leader, not a follower. The waitresses (when we went today for lunch) only addressed me or my granny unless my mom spoke to them. I tried to warn my mom about it but, thankfully, she didn't seem to notice or to take offense. Anyways, I said anyongnaseo when I walked out and enjoyed the look on their faces as all the Korean families and Korean waitresses all stared at me in shock like "Wow! An American twink just said good bye in Korean!!!" It was fun. It was really delicious too and now I have a ton of Korean food left over in the fridge which makes me even happier. Who's having Korean for the next day or two? I AM!!!!!!!!!!

Old Folks' Home

So today I took my granny to an old folks' home for vets and it was quite nice. It was one of the rare sunny days and it looked absolutely GORGEOUS. I think she's going to like it there (if she ever gets in. Seriously, terrible admittance system) but it was a gorgeous place, really big rooms, good food, and she'll be really close to me. She seemed to really like it and so did her husband. YAY!!!! While we were there, hough, all of the old people tended to keep looking at me. I was wearing a sweater and dress shirt today (cuz why not) and so I looked very posh, especially with my new haircut, and I think that was the reason.. everyone there was so old. There were rarely any young people at all! I think the youngest I saw was in her thirties! It was like an old folks' home run by old folk! And they were all talking about how they were stationed in Germany or in Korea because it was a Veterans' home and it was kind of depressing me...... Despite seeing countless creepy old people,
it was still very butiful.

David Tennant's Hamlet

I just watched a few scenes of David Tennant in Hamlet and it was AMAZING!!!!! I had heard before that it was an amazing performance and man was that an understatement. If anyone can play Shakespeare well, it would be him. He can do it better than anyone that I have ever seen. his body language, his face, and his voice, makes the performance. I LOVED IT!!!

~R

ASDFGHJKL

So can I please start off by saying that was the MOS EPICEST THING I HAVE EVER WATCHED!!!! I won't spoil too much in case you haven't seen it yet, but basically, all of the Doctors were is it and it was AMAZING!!! You should have been in the room when David Tennant came on. All of the fangirl literally had to gag themselves so that they weren't screaming over him. John Hurt did an amazing rendition of the Doctor which wasn't very high-energy but was still hilarious and fun to watch. David Tennant really gave it his all in this one and made a stunning comeback (but I might just be biased. Still, there has to be a reason for me being biased and that is how amazing David Tennant is.) The scripting was amazingly incredible in the sense that, as much older than Matt that David looks, you still got the sense that Matt was the older one (in age of the Doctor) and that David was kind of the younger sibling. This is something we didn't get as much with John Hurt but I really think should've been there, especially with how he was playing the first regeneration of the Doctor. There was a little bit of the "David and Matt are showing him the ropes" but it might just have been that because they've played the Doctor before. Anyways, I would've liked to see them portraying John as kind of the naiive younger one a bit but oh well. Anyways, the rest of it was amazing. The writing was amazing, the scripting was amazing, and it was like a fangirl's paradise. I loved seeing Matt and David on the same set together and look forward to seeing more of it in the future, even if it isn't part of Doctor Who.

I only have a few complaints.

1. The editing at the end. They show a shot of all of the Doctors together in one arc and you can tell that the heads are photoshopped on. It isn't even good photoshop. It just looks like someone cut the heads out of the pictures, colored them in, and pasted them over the faces of the stand-ins.
You'd think that since it's Doctor Who and they've shown that they have better effects than that, that the effects would be better than that.

2. (This is more a fan dissapointment thing) WE HAVE 13 REGENERATIONS NOW!!!!! Steven Moffat said that there would only be thirteen Doctors (because on Gallifrey there's a law that only allows thirteen regenerations) and that the law still applys. Well, with John Hurt and Capaldi, we now have thirteen Doctors... I don't hate that we have these people (honestly John Hurt was amazing and I'm really looking forward to Capaldi) but John Hurt has only appeared in, what, two episodes? YOU THRE AWAY ONE REGENERATION IN TWO EPISODES?! A least have like a spinoff series or something about his childhood! But seriously, unless someone assassinates Steven Moffat and replaces him with someone else before this happens, it looks like Doctor Who is coming to and end and that makes me really sad. ):

Anyways everything about the event was amazing. There were all these Whovians around (I wasn't the only TARDIS) and there were tons of fezs and TARDIS hats (literally 5 out of ten people had either a fez, a TARDIS hat, or both) and there were SO many sonic screwdrivers!!!! At one point, we had all been waiting in the theatre for about half an hour and I said "Maybe if we all point our Sonics at it, it'll start" and right as I said that, the movie turned on. You couldn't go anywhere without hearing a sonic and it was just an amazing experience. It was like a Doctor Who convention! The amazing part about it was that nearly every theatre was sold out in a few weeks and it was on a Monday night, and the show did almost no big-media advertising whatsoever. Like, if you didn't set out to find one of the trailers, you wouldn't find it. One does not simply chance upon a Doctor Who 50th trailer.
Anyways, It was an amazing experience and I was very happy hat I went. Pictures of everyone will be being posted soon but not tonight because it is getting late and I've already been pushing off my geek-overload coma. I seriously can't stop running around my room screaming in happiness. It made me really happy to go and see that. I think BBC needs to do this again. They need to make an episode that is completely for the fans and has all these big actors in it and all these nostalgic things from past Doctors and they have to show it in theatres so that people can go be Whovians together. I had a really wonderful time just talking to the people there and taking pictures and I wouldn't have had that fun with out all of the other people there. I am now moved to start up some Doctor Who fan meet-ups and events so if you live by me, you better plan on meeting me!!! Anyways, I'm going to go cry myself to sleep out of happiness now.

-got together with fam. and caught up in Doctor Who
   -explained cybermen to my grandma
   -messed around on my blog
   -messed around on youtube
-tried to mess around on tumblr
-ran away screaming from all of the monstrous Doctor Who 50th spoilers
-found out Andrew Scoot is gay
-found out he's too old for me
   -got absolutely no homework done
-didn't do anything really worth-while except for watch doctor who, which is always worth-while
-deleted all comments from my blog
   -face palmed
-smashed my head against a wall
-going to go to bed a cry myself to sleep from all of the emotional feelz and stupid mistakes I have

Sounds like I got a lot done for barely moving from the couch.

Ooops

So I've been going through the settings and messing around with things to try and make this blog the most epic it could possibly be and was going through all the comments settings. I had just changed a setting so that I had to approve all comments before they were visible on the blog and when I went to comments, I thought that it was an inbox of comments to approve so I marked all of them... and hit delete.... so now there aren't anymore comments on my blog... oops.....

so if you were wondering why a comment wasn't popping up but it had before... you know now.

OH the 50th....

I'm so excited for the 50th!!!!!!!! I can barely sleep. Actually, I can't sleep seeing as I'm on the internet instead of in my bed.... I'm going to go see it tomorrow in theaters with a few of my other friends. So I've been on one of my friend's blogs and she's been all "I'm getting my River cosplay together. It's going to be so amazing I just have to find out a way to get my hair super curly." and I'm over her like "I'm gonna try to make my hair look like David Tennant's and wear red converse... good enough?" YAY CLOSET COSPLAYING!!!!!!!!!

let's see... I have the same glasses, tie, and dress shirt. I'll have to see if I can find a generic blue suit jacket and I have the sonic screw driver... Or I could borrow my friend's TARDIS dress
I guess I could try to make a suit... IDK!!!!! My guess is I'm going to throw together some cosplay about half an hour before the show and then it's going to look amazing because I'm awesome. Simple as that. No it's probably going to suck and I goin to sit in a corner, cry, and stuff my face with popcorn while I watch Matt and David. Oh well.

Red Shirts

In any show, someone ALWAYS dies. It doesn't matter how, disintegration, implosion, combustion, choking on a meatball, but someone ALWAYS dies. It usually very obvious, as well, (or at least in the shows I watch) and I can tell who's going to die as soon as see them, which is usually thirty seconds before they die, in a really obvious way. They might as well be wearing red shirts.
