MOAR SNOW!!!!!!!

So when we all woke up this morning we had 4 1/2 inches of snow!!!!! My sisters had to leave early in the morning before all the streets/ driveways were plowed so they left VERY CAREFULLY and then Chloe, my niece, and I played in the snow. Sadly, it's still a little too wet to do anything with. When you make snow balls and throw them, they just break apart in a shower of snow. We have to wait a little longer. T-T However, when it is hard enough, I'm going to go make a snow Daalek.
This is me, my niece, and her dog Bowser.

SNOW!!!!

It's supposed to snow again tonight. The last snow we got didn't stick with us but this one is supposed to be 3-5 inches. It hasn't been snowing for a long time but everything is already covered in snow. Well, let's see how it is tomorrow!! I will post pictures of snow people. Maybe I'll make a Daalek. It'll have a fez.

"The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug" Rant

Today I ent to go see this movie with my family and it gave me mixed feelings. Like how it looked like it matched with the other LotR movies but that could be good (because it all matches together) or it could be bad because it means it has the effects of 11+ years ago. Seriously though, how is it that the actors all look the same? Even when the actors were switched, they did a good job of making the new ones look like the originals.
For instance, Ian looks the same as he did and so does Orlando Bloom.
Good job!!!
Also, I don't think Martin Freeman could've been casted better.
He just looks like I imagine Bilbo to be. He is an AMAZING actor.
Okay so I also noticed a ton of problems. Like what's up with Gandalf's sparkle scarf???
He just shows up wearing it and it's long and sparkly. He doesn't wear it in the mountains though. Only when he looking for the necromancer with Radagast. It doesn't make sense and I couldn't stop laughing. Also, the cg was kinda bad. I was looking at certain parts and thinking "A lot of video games have better textures than this." Also, there was this one part where they were all fighting Smaug and they used molten gold which ran as rivers through the rooms. It stayed super hot for super long and Throin used a wheelbarrow as a surf board on it. I know suspension of belief and all that but seriously? I can deal with the that hot for that long thing but that wheel barrow should be melted as well as Thorin. I kind of fell asleep for that part so luckily it's kind of blocked from my mind. The part with Biblo and Smaug was REALLY cool though. All of the negotiation and the acting and Benedict Cumberbatch was really awesome. The cg was pretty good, too.

One part that really got me though: The scripting near the end. It was so terrible. The end was just fairly bad. So to start off the whole gold scene they run into the smelting/ furnace/ whatever room and think "oh let's start the furnaces" but then one of the dwarves shouts "We don't have a hot enough fire to light the furnaces" and all the dwarves kind of turn to look at Thorin for advice. Then, Smaug roars right behind them and Thorin goes "or do we?" Multiple problems with this. 1: If you need fire, of course there's a dragon 2. Smaug was just chasing them; how could there forget about that GIGANTIC dragon who stole their homeland from them and was chasing them so quickly and 3. it was obvious and bad writing.

The movie as a whole I'm going to deem fairly good but there were points in the movie that ruined it when you remembered "oh yeah, this is a movie and totally not real." The elves were good and all of the main points were fairly good but I'd say about 2/3rds of the movie was fight scenes. I understand that they're padding the movie, but if you're going to pad it, pad it with something GOOD. They have the whole part w/ Mirkwood where they could have done so much more with that (the wood elf party and everything) but instead, they just had the spiders attack.

So the costuming, sets, acting, and look of it was amazing They need to work more on their cg and their writing. This movie was definitely worse than the first but I'm stil hoping they can bring it back in the third.

I hope they remake this one. It would be so much better if they just redid this one and redid all the writing and everything in it. You don't have to redo the costuming, the acting, the sets or anything, just get a new script. PLEASE. This movie is killing the Hobbit series. I would say "oh we'll just do a remake in a few years" but I would use the same sets costuming and actors. I would only change the writing. I can't stress it enough. It just kind of ruined it for me and continuously bugged me through out the entire movie.

Also, pad it with something we haven't seen before. For instance, they had an elf healing scene again. Just like they did with Arwin and Frodo. I want something new.

Another also, can someone explain to me why some people talk in American accents? The accents were kind of all over the place, even within the same races.

Other than all of that, good film. It was definitely better if you've watched Sherlock and you knew that John/ Bilbo and Sherlock/Smaug were the same characters. That made it more fun for the fanbase.

Making sushi w/ my sister

That's an avocado in her hand.

I'm going to post more pictures of sushi we made later. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be but it wasn't easy.
